A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at the Rose & Crown inn. It is situated on the banks of the River Wye in the heart of the picturesque village of Tintern, which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Dating back to at least 1835, the Rose & Crown is the second oldest existing Public House in the village, having been extended and renovated over the years. The Inn is half the size it once was, with the original building now being the "Club Room".

Located in a most beautiful part of the County of Monmouthshire surrounded by many superb walks such as the Offa's Dyke Path and Tintern Trail, the majestic splendour of the Tintern Abbey, historic Old Station (closed since 1964) and Angiddy Iron Works just a short walk away, with local shops nearby, the Rose & Crown is an ideal place to rest after a day's exploring or to base yourself for a while to relax and absorb this peaceful environment.

We provide simple but comfortable accommodation at a price to suit most pockets. We have two double rooms, one single and one twin. All rooms have views of the River Wye, tea and coffee making facilities and wash-hand basins. There is a shared resident's bathroom. A wholesome, cooked breakfast is included in the price of the room.

The Inn is open all day from mid-day, (11.00am in Summer, mid-day on Sunday) and offers a comphrehensive menu ranging from bar snacks & sandwiches to full cooked meals, "Sizzling Steaks" being our speciality. Vegetarian options and Children's Menu are available.

Having recently been treated to a fresh coat of paint inside and out, the Rose & Crown provides customers with a chance to enjoy the friendly ambience of this thriving "local".

The bar is well stocked with a good selection of beers, lagers and ciders and a wide range of spirits to suit all tastes. There is provision for 30-plus diners in the Lounge Bar with additional seating in the "Club Room".

The Rose & Crown plays host to the local football team and other clubs and has space available for small functions and private parties by request. Weekly entertainment is sometimes provided by local bands on Friday nights from 9.00pm at no additional charge.
