Turn up the road beside the Royal George Hotel and continue for less than a half mile. The pub is on the left. It is in a 300 year old building and had a licencee in the 1841 census.
The Cherry Tree is the only pub in Wales to have featured for 30 years in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. There is always a selection of real ales which are lovingly and immaculately looked after by landlord Steve. Hancocks HB, a very pleasant Welsh 3.6 session ale, is always available and there are normally two other beers on at any one time.
The pub now has en-suite B&B rooms, bar and restaurant meals and a newly refurbished interior. It is also the location for the village general shop and Post Office.
MOON AND SIXPENCE
This is situated on the A466 towards the northern end of the village and is probably the most widely known pub in the village. There is car parking opposite the pub on the river bank.
