Take M48 towards Chepstow at bottom of hill. ie turn off left
(Get this right, if you remain on the M4 you will be carried 8 miles past the Chepstow turn off, you will go over the new bridge and you will then need to come off the M4 at the Magor turn off, return along the M4 towards London, turn off quickly at the M48 junction for Chepstow, and return to the A466 junction close to the old bridge)
Cross Severn Bridge, toll is a large cash-only sum (increases annually) for west bound traffic (return is free)

After 1 mile, at Highbeech roundabout (named on sign) follow A466 towards Monmouth
Arrive Tintern after 5 miles
